We Are TAGET

Background

TAGET (Tanzania Green Environment Treasure) is a non-governmental organization established in June 2023, focused on maintaining, protecting, and preserving marine and land environments in response to the growing challenges posed by climate change. The organization undertakes a wide range of environmental activities including tree planting, beach cleanups, and partnerships with communities and institutions to create lasting positive environmental impact.

From its inception, TAGET has initiated several impactful projects. Notably, it planted over 100,000 mangrove trees between January and March 2024, worked on cleaning public spaces such as markets and health centers, and restored greenery in government offices and schools. In September 2023, TAGET collaborated with public and private institutions - including the Tanga City office, financial banks (NBC, CRDB, NMB), and private companies such as TEA, Tayota, Sisalana, and Anjary - to celebrate World Cleanliness Day.

Organization Registration

The organization is registered as a Non-Governmental Organization under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, No. 24 of 2002, as amended from time to time.

HEAD OFFICE: The head office is based at Tanga City Council. The regional office is located on Kwanduli Street, nearby Zayu Health Centre, Bagamoyo Ward, Korogwe District, Tanga Region, P.O. Box 346.
